Judge's comments: Creative open. Nice use of animation. Great segment on “Important African-Americans in History.” It was cleverly produced, using animation.
Judge's comments: This program was a top contender because of its content, production value, and relevance. The students tackled tough issues such as teen abuse of an emerging designer drug, alarming air quality surrounding the school, and requirements for a class on finance. Each story was presented in a professional manner, from the reporting to the writing to the shooting. The anchor set was refreshing in its simplicity, two chairs in front of a colorful background. This program was excellent.
Judge's comments: Good story selection, covering the elementary, middle and high schools.
Judge's comments: Great content, well presented. Excellent use of graphics and animation, especially in the stories about the health care reform bill and the social studies curriculum battle in Texas. Monthly or Less Frequent
Judge's comments: This presentation had the greatest range of material, news, and information, downplayed the individual members of the team by saving the credits for the end of the show, and incorporated a strong selection of stories along with quality writing and decent video. 2010 NSPA Broadcast Pacemaker Finalists Weekly/Biweekly
