Circulation rates

Margie, 1/5/2006, 9:15:45 PM

I'm conducting some research, and I was curious as to how many newspapers are circulated in different high schools. Our school has a popluation of about 1800 and we have a circulation rate of 1700. We devilver to other schools in our district and to the businesses we advertise with. Is what we do a common practice?

It's common practice to distribute several copies to adjoining schools (within the same district) or to other high schools (exchange program) -- but certainly not to do a full-fledged distribution at these same-district schools.

Completely normal to deliver to businesses.

We only send tear sheets along with the bills to our advertisers. If they want a subscription, we charge extra on their ad bill, 15.00 to cover the extra postage of a full paper (12 copies per year).

We distribute free to the entire student body, send copies to both of the other district high schools, copies for the teacher lounge and one for the library.

WE also send out 50 exchange papers and have about 120 subscriptions to parents, community members, advertisers and former students.
