Editoral Topics/Ideas

Michelle, 11/13/2005, 5:02:07 PM

Alright, so. I'm writing an editoral due in about two weeks, (Nov. 23rd), and I'm at a loss on what to write about.

It can be anything. Any big current event, and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me?

I'm a sophomore in high school so something that I, as well as my peers. would be able to understand and relate to.

What about any changes the school has made this year? Have you had a change in dress code? Had to wear name badges? Had the soda machines taken out of the cafeterias? If anything like this has happened, follow up on it. Is the new policy working? Are the changes popular? unpopular? and why? What does the editorial board think? Is the change a necessary evil? something that should be reversed?

Have any problems arisen at the school? More vandalism, more F grades, more security cameras? Listen to what kids are talking about and griping about and write about those topics.

for national topics, look to teen magazines and see what they are writing about.

Hmm, for my article, i am doing Capital Punishment, though I'm always doing storys like that. But just find something that you are really interested in and would love to have debating issues about.

Animal Testing? Is animal testing good or bad? BAD!! using poor animals to test supply on just so we could looka nd smell nice?

In regards to animal testing, do you really value the life of a mouse or rat more than a human being? I'd rather have an animal be tested on than a human.

See, this just proves that issues like capital punishment, assisted suicide, the war in Iraq, etc. are always controversial and things that people have opinions on. You could also do a point counter point with someone on an issue like this.
