InDesign Templates for Yearbook

Duff Douglas, 9/12/2005, 4:05:04 AM

Hi there! I am switching over to InDesign for our yearbook this year and wondered if anyone had templates that I could view / possibly use. It would be mucho appreciated! Feel free to email me at duff_douglas@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Hey, I use InDesign 2.0 last year when I was on yearbook and we relied on templates all the time. I have searched the Internet for InDesign templates for Yearbook purposes, but have failed to find any. Use your creativity- not only will you learn how to stretch your imagination and skill, but you will become a better designer.

Taylor Publishing was our Publisher and they provided YB! Pro for us, which was a great help whenever we needed help with our templates. You may want to check that out.

Other than that, good luck!!

If you don't get anyone to pass on their templates, look to other sources. Check out magazines for design ideas, and make a few templates of your own by adapting the designs you like to your content needs. Then you can just flip them up and down and left to right for the different sections. We did that last year, without spending too much time on the initial four or five designs. This worked out better than company templates we used with our other company (which often didn't follow design principals).

Your yearbook rep can help you; our Herff-Jones rep was invaluable to us when it came to creating template designs when we started using a new publishing program.
