story discussion

, 9/8/2005, 8:45:09 PM

I have 30+ people on my staff so story discussion gets a little hectic. We always seem to be wasting time and agreeing on one Package topic is never easy. As of right now, the section editors will all list their ideas on the board, explain them one by one, and then the staff takes a vote.

Is there a better way to hold story discussion? Something more efficient?

Anything would be much appreciated. Thanks!

With a staff that big, divide them into groups for each section and have each group responsible for the stories and design for that section. They can all come up with ideas and plan it together. Once each group is finished have the whole class come together and share their ideas and then offer input. The groups, except for the section editor, can change after a few issues so fresh ideas are always present.
