FOIA Audit

Hello,

My name is Brian Kennedy, and I'm a journalism student at the University of Southern Indiana. Recently, communications students, including myself, participated in a FOIA audit of our school. Results were mixed, and now we are in the process of writing stories based on this project.

I am doing a story on FOIA audits done at other schools. So far, however, I have been unable to find anything on this topic. If you know a group who has done a FOIA audit on their school, or any group getting ready to do a FOIA audit, please respond to this post. Thank you for your time.

Brian,

This post might be too late for your story, but it might help others. The University of Missouri Freedom of Information Center lists about 30 audits conducted around the country at http://foi.missouri.edu/openrecseries/index.html

Furthermore, a class at Washington State University conducted an audit of 20 universities in the Northwest. The results are at: http://www.wsu.edu/~accessnw/resources/cleryact/campuscrime.htm

I'm currently doing an analysis of about 60 FOI audits that I've collected and will hope to make that public soon. Can I have a copy of your story/audit results?
